Rules and guidelines for the special dances hosted by C&D – February 2024

  • Facilities will be asked to set the temperature in the halls at 19 degrees Celsius.
  • If there are overhead fans in the room, the fans will be turned on (unless the fans are too loud).
  • For facilities where participants can adjust the thermostat, only the organizer of the event or the designated C&D executive member can adjust the temperature.
  • For facilities that have a staff member available to adjust the temperature, only the organizer of the event or the designated C&D executive member can request an adjustment to the temperature.
  • As per the facilities’ guidelines, no fire exit doors can be left open for air.
  • Complaints of the temperature in the room should be addressed with the designated C&D executive member who will then discuss it with the organizer of the event.
  • If there is a complaint of the temperature in the dance hall, the designated C&D executive member or organizer of the event will ask if there are other dancers bothered by the temperature being too hot or cool. The majority will rule. If the majority of dancers are comfortable, the temperature will remain the same.
  • If participants are not happy with the temperature in the room and bring it up before the dance is half over, they will have the option of getting their entrance fee refunded and leaving the dance.
  • Verbal or physical abuse of any volunteers will not be tolerated. If this happens, the abuser will be asked by the designated C&D executive member to leave the dance.
